Force directv receiver download new software

Ive tried this on my HR and the newest software it finds is which i already have ao it downloads it but doesnt install it since it is the same. Does anyone know if the new one is out for the or if the software should do you tube? May 18, 18, 6 I'm Nationwide.

In the past they start in the LA area, then add more of the west, then work their way across the country to the east. They don't just releaes it to everyone incase there is a problem so the phone lines don't blowup. This has the same effect as rapidly rebooting your receiver two times in succession. This forces your receiver to start over again in terms of your satellite, programming, and other factors.

This is what fixes the problem, not your download. If you try to force an update and the receiver is already current, I believe never having done it that it will just continue booting. If you still have problems, call DirecTV and raise the issue. A new DVR should not be having problems like you described. Thanks dbmaven! I'll give it a shot tonight. The only reason I think it might be out of date, is the failed software download listed in the DVR download history screen.

Joe join Des Plaines, IL. Rural Installer As a former installer for DirecTV, there should be no need to download an update to fix satellite 2, to my knowledge. As long as you have both cables connected in the back, with the BBC's little black or grey boxes on the cable line or one line if its a SWM system ask me if you don't know and no BBC on that one.

The only time you would be getting or searching for satellite is if there is no 2nd line connected when there should be, or there is low signals coming though. Can you get to your satellite signal meter for line 1 and 2 and let me know some of the signals for all the satellites. Sounds like you should have a 5 LNB dish and I think your locals would either be on the satellite or the I checked and it appeared the system was at the correct level.

As for the original problem, I did reset the device and it did take care of that problem. Like all apps, they also have updates. Your receiver installs them all and reboots. Genie 2 DVRs do have the ability to get the same information over the internet, so the process is much faster. Secondly, not every receiver has available software all the time. If you try to update and there is no software available, your receiver will eventually time out and reboot. The biggest problem we see, even to this day, is commercial customers who still see the screen saver or have the power turn off after 4 hours.

Forcing an update will usually fix this.
